Gestures worth learning in the first week

The handful of touches that make the terminal feel fast: Tab, scroll, select, zoom and switching tabs.

Step by step

Tap to type, double-tap for Tab
A tap opens the keyboard. A double tap on the terminal sends Tab — path completion, one thumb away.
Drag to scroll
Drag up and down to move through the scrollback (10,000 lines). Scrolling never sends anything to the server.
Hold to select
Hold on a word to select it, then drag the handles to extend. Copy works across wrapped lines.
Pinch to zoom
Pinch to change the font size between 8 and 24, with a slider for fine steps.
Swipe sideways to switch tabs
A horizontal swipe moves to the next or previous tab.
Use the speed rail and the volume keys
Tap the speed rail at the edge to turn a page, hold and drag it to scroll fast. With Volume keys scroll on, the volume keys act as Page Up and Page Down.
